Introduction
Film-Forming Fluoroprotein (FFFP) foam provide highly efficient Class A and B extinguishing capabilities, it is also an effective fire preventing vapor barrier when applied to volatile chemical spills. FFFP foam is an alcohol resistant fire fighting agent designed to extinguish a variety of materials including alcohols, polar solvents, and hydrocarbons.
These extinguishers contain a special potassium acetate based, low PH extinguishing agent developed for use in pre-engineered restaurant kitchen systems. The recent trend to more efficient cooking appliances and use of unsaturated cooking oils requires the use of a hand portable fire extinguisher with greater fire fighting capacity and cooling effect to combat these very difficult fire.
Use the extinguisher:
PULL the safety pin out, to free the lever on top of the extinguisher
AIM the fire extinguisher nozzle or hose at the base of the fire, standing around 2.5 metres back from the fire
SQUEEZE the handle to release the fire-fighting agent
SWEEP the nozzle or hose across the base of the fire (not the flames) until it is fully extinguished; with foam and powder, lay a blanket of foam or powder over the burning area
Warning:- Do not touch the horn of the CO2 extinguisher as your hand could freeze to it.
